Prague Castle

Prague CastleOffice of the Czech President, the centerpiece of Prague is the famous Prague Castle rising majestically above the city. Originally dating back to the 9th century, the castle grounds now comprise a grand palace, three churches and a monastery, with the most distinctive of its features being St. Vitus's cathedral rising from its heart.

Petřín Observatory

Petřín HillTopping Petřín Hill, a favourite place for couples to stroll on the 1st of May, is Petřín Tower, a fifth-scale replica of Paris's Eiffel Tower built in 1891 with 299 steps to reach the spectacular views from its top. Meanwhile, constellations may be viewed through the telescope of the nearby Štefánik Observatory.

Charles Bridge

Charles BridgeThe most recognizable symbol of Prague, and a magnet for tourists, the Charles Bridge as it is today was built in 1357. The imposing Old Town Bridge Tower on the east end of the bridge was built in 1373 and offers spectacular views of the bridge and the Small Quarter beyond.

Old Town Square

Old town SquareFor centuries, magnificent Old Town Square, watched over by a mixture of medieval and baroque houses, has served as a meeting place for the city. Once a medieval marketplace, it features the Old Town Hall, the Church of St. Nicholas and the famous Astronomical Clock, as well as numerous cafes and restaurants.

National Theatre

National TheatreA symbol of 19th century Czech nationalism that opened in 1883 after being gutted by a fire, the stunning, golden-domed National Theatre is among the most important Czech cultural institutions, with a rich artistic tradition created and maintained by the most distinguished personalities in Czech society.
